Falmouth Board approves advanced nitrogen-reducing septic systems for two new construction projects. The Falmouth Board of Health unanimously approved septic systems incorporating nitrogen-reducing treatment technology at 11 Deshon Drive and 51 Cliff Road, each featuring KleanTu NitROE 2KS systems designed to achieve 10 milligrams per liter of nitrogen. A third variance request at 227 Edgewater Drive West became contentious when Board member George Heufelder's motion to require nitrogen-reducing technology as a condition of granting setbacks failed 2-3, with Chair Jed Goldstone, Vice Chair Amy Roth, and member Kevin Kroeger opposed.

The Board voted to continue the matter pending Conservation Commission review. Dr. George Topulos was appointed to the Wastewater Affordability Committee.
