FALMOUTH — Board of Health approved two advanced septic system installations in nitrogen-sensitive areas. The board voted unanimously for innovative and alternative systems at 93 Totting Park Road (three bedrooms) and Lot 24 Bonnie Lane (four bedrooms), both using KleanTu NitROE technology with conditions including soil verification. The board continued a setback relief application at 32 Eldridge Drive pending water quality testing.
Wastewater Superintendent Amy Lowell presented preliminary Watershed Management Plans required by state regulation to address nitrogen in coastal ponds, targeting an internal town draft by the end of 2026 and permit applications between 2027 and 2030. The plans include a proposed ocean outfall costing approximately $80 million in construction, with $7 million for design anticipated for the April 2027 Town Meeting.
