FALMOUTH — Board of Health approves conditional septic upgrade for major Edgewater Drive renovation. Chair Jed Goldstone, Vice Chair Amy Roth, member George Heufelder, and member Dr. George Topulos voted 3-1 to conditionally approve a major home renovation at 227 Edgewater Drive West in a nitrogen-sensitive area, requiring installation of a nitrogen-reducing septic system within three years or at property sale unless municipal sewer reaches the site by 2035.

The Board unanimously approved three new-construction septic projects using advanced nitrogen-reducing treatment systems at 21 Pheasant Lane, 20 Brigatine Drive, and 2 Sweet Road. Water Superintendent Matt Lanen reported the town has 23,000 water services with 13,000 of unidentified material; the state approved a statistical sampling plan requiring 300 in-home inspections by year end.
