Board votes on exemptions, abatements in session

Falmouth Board of Assessors approves exemptions totaling $696,300, denies most other applications. The Board of Assessors met April 22 and voted in executive session on multiple exemption and abatement applications. Chair Robert Dolan, member Joseph M Clancy, and member Bruce J Beardsley attended via Zoom, though Beardsley was absent for the closed session.
Clancy moved and Dolan seconded motions on each application, with 2-0 voting tallies on all votes. Approved exemptions provided combined tax relief of $696,300. Remaining applications were denied.
The board also introduced two newly hired staff members: James O'Neill, Assistant Director of Assessing (hired April 13), and Carla Davis, Data Collector (hired April 21).
