Committee backs safety improvements at Oyster Pond intersection

Falmouth Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee unanimously approves letter requesting intersection safety improvements. The committee voted to approve a letter to the Falmouth Selectboard requesting MassDOT implement safety enhancements at the Oyster Pond Road and Woods Hole Road intersection, including a new traffic signal and improved crosswalk recommended in the 2024 Road Safety Audit. Treasurer Matt Delaney moved the motion, seconded by Ellen Adams, citing hazards including vehicles running red lights and obscured signal visibility.
The committee also discussed pedestrian safety related to unplowed sidewalks and considered whether Falmouth should adopt a snow removal bylaw for sidewalks.
