Committee discusses consultant selection, DEIB officer position with Town Manager.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Committee · Meeting of June 17, 2026

Falmouth DEIB Advisory Committee pressed Town Manager Mike Renshaw on consultant selection and the future of a DEIB officer position during a June 17 special meeting. Renshaw said the Request for Proposals is staff-driven, with a revised 12-month contract (extendable) closing July 6; he noted the DEIB officer hire is "not a focus" and represents a "possible source of savings" amid projected budget constraints. Committee members, led by Chair Mananjo Jonahson, said their April 29 recommendations were not acknowledged at the Select Board's May 18 meeting, with Amy Bower asserting the committee must remain vocal in budget prioritization discussions.

Renshaw confirmed the consultant will interview committee members and integrate their input.
