Falmouth Conservation Commission approves six determination requests and splits on invasive species method. Chair William Duffy and the full commission voted unanimously on determinations for dock piling, dormers, patio replacement, two Title V systems, and dock permitting; continued hearings on retaining walls and seasonal floats; and approved an amendment to allow pool and pool house construction at 1 Betts Way, conditioned to maintain 60-foot setback from coastal bank. A contentious hearing on invasive species removal at 58 Westwood Road saw applicants and their ecological consultant argue for mechanical extraction of invasive root systems while Conservation Administrator Jennifer Lincoln and staff urged manual herbicide treatment to preserve native vegetation; the commission took that matter under advisement.
A Certificate of Compliance request for 29 Nauset Avenue failed 0-4, with the commission requiring tree replacement before approval.
