DEIB Committee defers officer election, plans Town Manager meeting

Falmouth's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Advisory Committee unanimously deferred its officer election to July 1 during its June 3 meeting. Chair Mananjo Jonahson, whose term ends in June, briefed the committee on Brookline's DEI office structure and a critical caution: the HR Director and DEI Director cannot be the same person. Committee members discussed converting from an advisory committee to a commission or task force.
The panel approved May minutes and is preparing talking points for a June 17 meeting with Town Manager Renshaw to press for acknowledgment of an April memo and clarity on the committee's role in hiring a DEIB Officer and selecting a consultant.
