FALMOUTH — DEIB Committee advances DEIB Officer hire plan ahead of Select Board meeting. The committee, chaired by Mananjo Jonahson, discussed the scope and organizational reporting structure of the position, with Henry St. Julien, Falmouth Public Schools DEIB Director, recommending an internally focused role reporting to top town management, while community members and former Chair Dale Kapp argued the original 2021 Town Meeting intent included external community access.
Jim Newman and Jonahson will prepare a timeline and job descriptions for the Select Board's May 18 meeting. Jonahson will step down as Chair in June elections; the committee will support the June 12 Pride celebration and May 16 Opal Lee Juneteenth walk.
