Energy Committee meets; reviews solar, EV adoption, and state utility inquiry

FALMOUTH — Energy Committee approves prior minutes and charts EV adoption and solar expansion in Falmouth. Sustainability Specialist Stephanie Madsen reported that the Senior Center solar project has completed inverter installation and rooftop work will begin the week of April 6, pending Eversource grid interconnection. Committee member Olwen Huxley found that 988 electric vehicles registered in Falmouth avoid 3.2 gigatons of CO2 emissions annually, while approximately 1,802 residential solar systems now generate 25 percent of residential electrical needs including community solar.
The committee is planning a solar tour June 28 at the home of member Paul Skudder and coordinating a National Grid Consumer Assistance event with the Director of Town Human Services. The next meeting is scheduled for May 13, 2026.
