Falmouth 250 Task Force finalizes July 1 dedication ceremony

250th Anniversary Task Force · Meeting of April 22, 2026

Falmouth 250th Anniversary Task Force schedules July 1 dedication for commemorative marker. The 10:00-11:00 a.m. event at Falmouth Heights on the seaward side will feature speeches from ten prospective speakers including Bob Ripley, Bob Mascali, and Rachel Lovett, with FCTV coverage and fife-and-drum participation. The task force moved to finalize a Liberty Tree through coordination with the Library, Tree Warden Jeremiah Pearson, and public works.

A commemorative coin design is complete; Main Street banners and lawn signs will promote the 250th throughout town. The Coast Guard is considering providing a response boat as backdrop; Harbormaster Gregg Fraser may coordinate an alternative if unavailable.
