Affordable Housing Committee · Meeting of April 9, 2026

Falmouth housing committee charts implementation of three warrant articles approved by Town Meeting on April 6. The Committee unanimously approved March meeting minutes and outlined next steps for establishing a year-round rental tax exemption, a seasonal community designation, and new short-term rental regulations. Town Meeting approved $2.95 million in new funding for the Affordable Housing Fund: $2 million from Community Preservation Committee funds and $950,000 from room excise tax and community impact fees.

Housing Coordinator Kim Fish reported the fund currently holds $2.2 million, with an additional $350,000 anticipated from a canceled project, bringing the balance to $437,000 if three pending applications are fully funded.
