Falmouth preservation committee approves seven projects for spring town meeting

Falmouth preservation committee approves seven major capital projects for April town meeting. The Community Preservation Committee voted unanimously to advance projects including playground replacement, recreation spaces, gravestone conservation and repair, school shingling, library preservation, and church roof replacement, with completion dates through December 2027. The committee adopted a new requirement that historic preservation projects include Preservation Restrictions in perpetuity.
Amendments were approved for North Falmouth Village Junction Exterior Rehabilitation and for FORWARD at the Rock Phase II, authorized for direct contractor payment to save the nonprofit $7,000 in interest. With $5.9 million available and $4.31 million requested, the committee retains $1.59 million in reserve.
