Falmouth schools approve $64.9M budget; Lawrence study advanced for April vote

Falmouth School Committee approves $64.9 million FY27 budget and advances Lawrence School feasibility study to April vote. The nine-member committee, chaired by Terri Medeiros, voted unanimously to approve the $64,987,284 budget and to advance two articles for Town Meeting: a $2 million appropriation for the Lawrence School feasibility study and a $250,000 transfer from certified free cash for safety and security measures. Superintendent Lori Duerr announced that East Falmouth Elementary School received the School of Recognition award from the Department of Education and Secondary Education.

The committee also approved a field trip for DECA students to Boston for State Competition, March 12-14, 2026, and set a public hearing on School Choice seats for February 24, 2026.
