Library Trustees approve FY2027 budget of $2.65M and professional development

Falmouth Library Trustees unanimously approve FY2027 operating budget of $2,650,834 and authorize $7,800 for staff professional development. Director Brian Stokes reported the budget includes two items funded above level funding and has already cleared the town Finance Committee and Town Manager's office. The board also greenlit four staff members to attend the Massachusetts Library Association Conference in Danvers on May 18-19 for $2,600 total, and two managing librarians to the American Library Association Annual Conference in Chicago on June 26-27 for $5,200 total.
Chair Judy Fenwick required that all conference and transportation costs be prepaid with hotel and per diem vouchers submitted by June 30, 2026, to lock costs in the current fiscal year.
