Library Trustees approve Movies Under the Stars, advance preservation assessment

FALMOUTH — Library Trustees unanimously approve Movies Under the Stars outdoor program. The Board of Library Trustees voted 7-0 to allow the Falmouth Village Association to use library grounds for six screenings between July 18 and August 19, 2026. In other business, Director Brian Stokes reported that the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners accepted the library's planning and design phase submission under the state's Public Library Construction Program, with a final report due by March 31.

The Finance Committee approved FY2027 budget requests for CLAMS network contributions and materials. Jessica Farrell of Redstart Works presented a preservation assessment noting that town staff lack capacity to professionally steward the library's historical archives without dedicated resources or project funding.
