Planning Board approves two school solar projects, continues bus parking hearing
Planning Board · Meeting of March 17, 2026
Falmouth Planning Board approves two school solar systems, delays contentious bus lot. The Board voted unanimously to authorize carport-mounted photovoltaic installations at North Falmouth Elementary School at 62 Old Main Road and Falmouth High School at 1200 Gifford Street Extension, both filed by Solect Energy on behalf of the Town of Falmouth. In a more contested proceeding, the Board voted 5-0-0 to continue William Lucini's application for a 44-space parking facility (17 bus spaces, 27 car spaces) at 402 North Falmouth Highway to June 9, 2026, after substantial public testimony raised safety and quality-of-life concerns; the Board determined that traffic, noise, and pollution studies are required before final decision.
The restaurant expansion application filed by Aanjes Hershfield to increase seating from 12 to 45 at 352 Main Street Unit 3 secured a 5-0-0 vote to prepare a positive decision for the next meeting.
