Planning Board continues Red Horse Inn hearing; solar project moved to July

FALMOUTH — The Falmouth Planning Board postponed votes on a 34-room hotel expansion and solar carport system at two separate sites. During reorganization, Chair John Druley drew fire from Member Jim Fox, who objected to Druley's prior push to bury utilities at another solar project, calling it overreach. The Red Horse Inn application at 28 Falmouth Heights Road was continued to June 23 with decision deadline extended to June 30; the revised plan reduces a proposed new building from 14 rooms to 8 while maintaining 38 parking spaces and adding landscaping and ADA pathways.
The solar carport application at 709 and 737 Gifford Street was continued to July 7 after the Fire Department flagged unresolved access concerns and an ongoing enforcement issue involving unauthorized wood storage on the property.
