Falmouth School Committee expands pre-kindergarten program at East Falmouth Elementary. Superintendent Lori Duerr recommended adding one classroom annually for two years to address a 12-student waitlist, and the vote passed unanimously, though committee members expressed concerns about declining enrollment at East Falmouth Elementary that could trigger district-wide redistricting. A motion to delay discussion of an Early Childhood Learning Center through June 2027 failed 1-7-1.
The district's fiscal year 2026 budget of $61.4 million was spent nearly in full, with out-of-district tuition and transportation costs at $4.1 million. Structural repairs at North Falmouth Elementary following last winter's snow damage were completed this month.
