Falmouth School Committee elects two members to Lawrence Building Committee. The committee selected Susan Augusta and Margaret Souza as voting members on a multi-year commitment, with Augusta winning her seat six to three to two on a revote, and Souza prevailing five to four to three after Kelly Welch withdrew her nomination. Superintendent Lori Duerr emphasized that a grade configuration decision must occur within six weeks or the MSBA will restart its feasibility study at significant cost.
The district is seeking $2 million in funding for the Lawrence project at April Town Meeting, followed by additional capital-plan support at November Town Meeting if approved.
