FALMOUTH — School Committee blocks executive session on union talks over posting violations. The vote, 4 to 3, rejected an executive session on collective bargaining and one litigation item, with member Michael Heylin and Vice Chair Glenda Cohen joining Superintendent Lori Duerr's Chair Terri Medeiros and member Katrina Nevin to halt the closed meeting, citing inadequate 48-hour public notice and questionable legal grounds. The board will post a union memorandum of agreement separately tomorrow and reschedule the session.
The Committee unanimously approved a 10,000 dollar Stop and Shop grant for the high school food pantry and backed the Green School Works Grant Application for energy projects at two elementary schools, requesting up to 5 million dollars in state funding.
