Falmouth's Shellfish Advisory Committee discussed a Chapoquoit Yacht Club mooring proposal and potential openings of new waters. Marina Environmental Services reported being short-staffed with 44 permits against a 50-goal and six vacancies available, with youth applicants receiving priority. The committee determined the yacht club's proposed West Falmouth Harbor locations lacked sufficient depth, requiring more than three feet at mean low water, and determined they would need re-evaluation.
Sample collection was set to begin at Little Pond with expectation of winter opening; Wild Harbor faces access challenges. The next meeting was scheduled for April 28, 2026.
