Short-Term Rental Advisory Committee revises bylaw draft ahead of Select Board presentation.
Short-Term Rental Advisory Committee · Meeting of January 2, 2026
FALMOUTH — Short-Term Rental Advisory Committee refines bylaw draft before Select Board presentation. The committee, guided by town counsel Maura O'Keefe, tightened ownership definitions to allow no single LLC tax identification number to hold more than three permits, reduced owner-distance requirements to 20 miles, and replaced a problematic Certificate of Occupancy requirement with a habitability attestation. Douglas Brown will present the revised draft to the Select Board on January 5, with the full bylaw expected on the April Town Meeting Warrant.
Committee members emphasized that adequate program funding and staffing must be included in the presentation.
