Solid Waste Advisory Committee · Meeting of March 10, 2026
FALMOUTH — Solid Waste Committee endorses new administrator position and composting funding. Richard Merrick presented a draft Solid Waste and Recycling Administrator position (M-8 grade) rooted in 2006 and 2012 recommendations to establish a dedicated DPW solid waste division; the committee continued discussion to April pending consultation with DPW leadership and the Town Manager. Concurrently, Mary Ryther reported that the committee submitted a letter endorsing Barnstable County's $4.5 million Community Project Funding proposal for an Upper Cape regional composting facility, with the Falmouth Chamber of Commerce also submitting support.
Ryther noted progress on the 2027 curbside collection contract, which incorporates committee edits and will go to the Select Board on March 23.
