Trustees approve Shining Sea Strummers lawn concerts; defer exhibits policy
Library Trustees, Board of · Meeting of April 14, 2026
FALMOUTH — Library Trustees approve Shining Sea Strummers summer concerts on library lawn. The group will perform music on the last Sunday of each month from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. during summer months at no cost to the library; Director Brian Stokes reported they performed without incident last year. The Board also approved the FY2026 third quarter expense report, which recorded a $14,469 Wintermeyer Fund donation and $8,000 spent on benches.
Long-serving librarian Gail Rose, employed since 1987, announced her June retirement. The town has imposed a soft hiring freeze amid expected financial constraints over the next five years, requiring the library to submit detailed justification for any position fills.
