Waterways Committee approves dredging priorities, reviews bulkhead repair options.

FALMOUTH — Waterways Committee unanimously approved prior minutes and reviewed dredging and mooring priorities. The Dredging Sub-Committee presented a public priority list based on usage and shoaling; the Mooring Regulation Sub-Committee, managing approximately 3,000 moorings across 16 fields, sought public comment on regulatory adjustments before proceeding. The committee agreed to pursue a limited decking-replacement and repair approach for the Tides Motel bulkhead at 267 Clinton Avenue, expected to last up to ten years while funds accumulate for a larger future rebuild.
Harbormaster Gregg Fraser reported ice damage limited to one piling at Harrington Street boat ramp; initial dredging assessments indicate Eel River, Green Pond, and Great Pond require removal before April 1, 2026, to avoid triggering a fish waiver.
