Zoning Board denies Wendy's fast-food special permit after traffic concerns.

Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of March 12, 2026

FALMOUTH — Zoning Board denies Wendy's special permit over traffic and safety concerns. In a 3-2 vote on application #071-25, Fashion Food LLC's request to operate a drive-thru at Worcester Court failed after Board members Susanne Murphy and Marc Finneran opposed the project, citing an overburdened intersection and insufficient mitigation despite a Planning Board traffic study finding minor impacts. In related action, the Board unanimously approved O'Neill's special permit for a dwelling addition at 9 Ginwal Street; continued Doyle's renovation application to April 30 pending resolution of sewer and bedroom-count issues; voted unanimously to appeal an EOHLC decision on Broken Bow Residences to the Housing Appeals Committee; and directed staff to draft an affirmative decision on Habitat for Humanity's fourteen-unit affordable housing project for April 16 review.
