The Town of Falmouth announced Oct. 16 that road closures tied to the Great Pond Sewer Project will continue and expand over the coming weeks.

Brick Kiln Road remains closed to through traffic between Gifford Street and Service Road for sewer force main installation. Starting Monday, Oct. 19, Teaticket Highway will also close to through traffic, between Maravista Avenue Extension and Oxbow Road, for sewer installation work.

Both closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. The town said "closed to through traffic" means construction blocks the road completely at one point, so vehicles cannot pass all the way through except for emergency vehicles. Local access to homes and businesses will remain open from each side up to the construction work zone. Residents needing to reach a home or business beyond a closure sign are told to speak with the police officer or flagger stationed at that location.

According to the town's three-week work schedule, the week of Oct. 19 includes sewer and lateral installation on English Street, St. Marks Road and Neves Way, along with the Brick Kiln Road and Teaticket Highway work. The week of Oct. 26 adds sewer work on Neves Way and a new stretch of Teaticket Highway starting at Maravista Avenue Extension heading east, plus a permanent trench patch on Teaticket Highway between Sandwich Road and Maravista Avenue Extension; detour maps for those two items are to be posted the week of Oct. 19. The week of Nov. 2 includes work on Moniz Way and Rivers End Road, continued Brick Kiln Road work, and Teaticket Highway work at multiple locations, with a detour map to be posted the week of Oct. 26.
