Sewer Work Closes Brick Kiln Road, Teaticket Highway This Week

DATELINE — FALMOUTH

Falmouth is juggling road construction, a Marine Park fishing event and a debut library exhibit this week, while Town Hall pushes out its first wave of information on the November 3 state election.

TOWN HALL

The town's ongoing sewer project is closing two roads to through traffic on weekdays. Brick Kiln Road is shut between Sandwich Road and Gifford Street, and Teaticket Highway is closed between Maravista Avenue Extension and the Domino's Pizza at 667 Teaticket Highway, according to a Town Hall construction update posted Friday. Both closures run 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, with a detour map posted on the town's construction-updates page.

Separately, election preparations are underway: Falmouth voters can now view their ballots for the November 3 Massachusetts General Election online, and the town has released early voting hours ahead of the election. The Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth's 2026 "Red Book" Information for Voters Guide is also due to arrive in mailboxes soon. Town Hall additionally confirmed that regular beach season operations have ended for 2026, with details on fall access and services posted to the beach department's page.

COMING UP

The Falmouth Public Library's Main branch is running a Marvel Heroes and Villains scavenger hunt through Monday, alongside the ongoing "New Bedford as Fish Come Ashore" photography exhibit in the Adult Collections Room. Monday brings a full slate of programming: the League of Women Voters of Falmouth meets at 10:30 a.m., Mindful Movement with the Coalition for Children runs at 10 a.m., and the East Falmouth branch hosts Maker Mondays: Thaumatrope at 10 a.m. followed by Paper Quilling for Beginners at 3 p.m. The North Falmouth branch holds a LEGO Block Party at 4 p.m. Monday.

Tuesday brings Stories, Songs and Instruments at the East Falmouth branch at 10 a.m., along with meetings of the Falmouth Retirement System and the Shellfish Advisory Committee. The East Falmouth branch also has a drop-in craft session Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., "Crack the Code!"
