Falmouth Adds Maravista Road Closure to Sewer Project Detour List

Starting Monday, a new stretch of Maravista Avenue Extension will be added to the town's active sewer construction closure zone, compounding an already significant traffic disruption for residents on the south side of town.

TOWN HALL

A sewer project construction update posted to the town's homepage Friday signals a meaningful expansion of road closures beginning June 29. Brick Kiln Road remains closed between Sandwich Road and Oxbow Road, and — new this week — Maravista Avenue Extension will be closed between Route 28 and Mattapan Street. Both closures will be in effect weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents and commuters traveling in the Maravista area should plan alternate routes before Monday morning.

The town's drought status also remains elevated: a Level 2 Significant Drought designation has been in effect since a June 17 update, and residents are encouraged to follow water-conservation guidance. A spring lawn care advisory remains active alongside it.

Looking ahead, the Select Board meets Monday, June 29, with a public hearing also on the agenda that evening.
