Falmouth Select Board Approves $4.95 Million for 46-Unit Affordable Housing Project

FALMOUTH — June 29, 2026 — Falmouth Select Board approves $4.95 million in affordable housing funds and continues two liquor license violation hearings tied to police injuries and overtime costs. Acting under Chair Heather M. H. Goldstone's absence, Vice Chair Colin W. Reed presided as the three-member board unanimously awarded $4,025,000 to Locust Field Woods LLC — a partnership of Falmouth Housing Corporation and Affirmative Investments Inc. — for 40 affordable rental units at Zero Locust Field Road, and $925,000 to Falmouth Housing Trust Inc. for six ownership units at the same site, drawing down roughly $4.95 million of the fund's $8.25 million balance. Police Chief Jeff Florey told the board he had spent "over $10,000 since Memorial Day on overtime" tied to Scranton Avenue establishments, and that he received a 1:46 a.m. call on a Saturday informing him two officers were hospitalized after an altercation outside Pier 37 Boathouse; boathouse owner Connor McLaughlin presented a corrective action plan and surrendered 29 confiscated fake IDs. Both the Pier 37 Boathouse hearing and a parallel hearing for Falmouth Raw Bar were continued to July 13 to allow for body camera review and ABCC testimony. The board also executed a land disposition agreement for the Zero Locust Field Road project and made appointments to eight town boards and committees, including reappointments to the Zoning Board of Appeals for James Morse and Anthony Petrucci.
