Randolph Street, Maravista Avenue Extension Close For Sewer Work This Week

Falmouth's sewer construction project adds two new street closures this week, with Randolph Street shutting down starting Wednesday and Maravista Avenue Extension following Thursday, town officials announced Tuesday evening. A Brick Kiln Road and Sandwich Road intersection closure is also set for later this month.

Randolph Street will close from Maravista Avenue to the mall's south entrance starting Wednesday, Aug. 19, and Maravista Avenue Extension closes from Route 28 to Nickerson Street starting Thursday, Aug. 20, according to the town's latest sewer construction update. A detour map for those closures is posted at falmouthma.gov, and the town said the Brick Kiln Road and Sandwich Road intersection will close Aug. 24-25, with a new detour map to be posted Aug. 19.

The Falmouth Public Library launches Movies Under the Stars at the Main Library on Wednesday evening and debuts "The Joys of Nature" program at the North Falmouth branch, with two showtimes that same morning. East Falmouth's branch hosts a Retro Game Extravaganza the same evening, part of a full slate of programming running across all three library branches this week.

The Police Station Advisory Committee meets Thursday, Aug. 20, at Town Hall, the same day the East Falmouth Library hosts Bingo for Books at 3 p.m. The North Falmouth Library runs a Scavenger Hunt Friday, Aug. 21, at 2 p.m., and East Falmouth follows with its own Scavenger Hunt Saturday, Aug. 22, at 9 a.m., plus Mah Jongg Beginner Open Play at 11 a.m. The Brick Kiln Road and Sandwich Road intersection closes for sewer work Monday, Aug. 24, through Tuesday, Aug. 25, the same week North Falmouth hosts Games on the Library Lawn on Aug. 24 and a Stay & Make drop-in craft session on Aug. 25.
