Falmouth Genealogical Society To Host DNA Ancestry Workshop Saturday

The Falmouth Genealogical Society brings a DNA-focused ancestry workshop to the Main Library this Saturday, the most concrete community offering on an otherwise light stretch for the town. The Department of Public Works also confirmed a new phase of sewer-related road closures near the Maravista Avenue intersection starting next week.
TOWN HALL
The town's ongoing sewer construction project will expand next week: a new closure south of the Maravista Avenue intersection begins the week of Aug. 10, joining the existing closures on Brick Kiln Road between Sandwich Road and Oxbow Road and on Maravista Avenue Extension between Route 28 and Maravista Avenue. All three closures run 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, according to the town's construction update.

The Falmouth Genealogical Society leads "How to Pinpoint Your Irish Ancestors Using DNA" at the Main Library on Saturday, Aug. 8, at 10 a.m., walking attendees through using DNA testing to trace Irish family lines.
Younger patrons have their own date on the calendar: the East Falmouth Library hosts a yo-yo, music and comedy show with performer Ooch! on Monday, Aug. 11, at noon.
