Conservation Commission · Meeting of October 21, 2026

Falmouth's Conservation Commission approved a 4-1 order of conditions for dredging at 34 Bridge Street on Eel Pond, with one dissent. Member Elizabeth Gladfelter cast the lone "no," arguing the pond sits on a flood-tide delta that will quickly refill with sediment and citing a similar Perch Pond project that took nearly a decade to recover productivity. Members Ronald Bowman, Ronald Driscoll and Vice Chairman Daniel Walsh favored the applicant's presentation; member James McGrath abstained, saying he was not seated on the quorum for that application.

Gladfelter said "by denying improvement dredging, we are not denying the use of the dock." The board also closed a Widgeon Road addition hearing, continued a Teaticket Path landscape renovation to November 4 over mitigation-siting disputes, continued two enforcement orders, and approved six routine wetlands determinations and a North Falmouth dune-stabilization order unanimously.
