Falmouth Commission Orders Patio Removal, Restoration
Conservation Commission · Meeting of September 30, 2026
Falmouth Conservation Commission orders patio removal in Mill Pond Way wetlands case. The board voted 4-0 to require Michael and Faith Stevens to remove an unpermitted patio from a protected buffer at 33 Mill Pond Way, with restoration plantings due by a spring date; the owner did not attend. Commissioner Elizabeth Gladfelter said after a site visit, "we don't know where the A and B buffer lines are." Separately, the panel approved a Mashpee-sponsored Red Brook Road culvert replacement 5-0 and an amended beach-access plan for the Saconesset Hills Association 6-0.
Five routine permit requests, including projects from Philip Chouinard and Brian Axon, cleared with negative determinations by 6-0 roll calls, while a sixth, from Grace C. and Chris P. Hayes, was continued to October 14. Vice Chair Daniel Walsh also flagged a discrepancy between the town's posted agenda and the version emailed to commissioners.
