Conservation Commission · Meeting of July 29, 2026

Falmouth Conservation Commission issues order of conditions for West Falmouth raise-and-rebuild. The commission held a brief special meeting July 29 with four members present, convened solely to vote on an order of conditions for Amanda Hunt's property at 227 Edgewater Drive West. Conservation Commission Administrator Jennifer Lincoln described the project as a raise-and-rebuild, with the Board of Health having classified the home as a five-bedroom dwelling requiring a five-bedroom septic system.

Lincoln told the commission that staff had already staked out the required backyard mitigation area and that the homeowner had signed a note accepting the mitigation requirements, recommending standard conditions were sufficient; Conservation Agent Alissa Bergeron agreed no special conditions were needed. The commission voted 4-0 to issue the order. After the vote, a commissioner flagged that staff notes from a July 14 proceeding referenced two unpermitted floats proposed for removal, a detail not mentioned during the motion, and Lincoln agreed to confirm the floats would appear in the written order and to circulate the completed document to the full board.
