Falmouth Conservation Commission Issues Three Orders of Conditions, Continues Four Cases

FALMOUTH — July 1, 2026 — Falmouth Conservation Commission issues three wetlands orders, continues four cases at July 1 meeting. Chairman Bill Duffy presided over a virtual session in which the commission voted unanimously to issue orders of conditions for the John G. Merlsana Family Trust at 15 Beach Street — requiring view-corridor restoration and mitigation for an unpermitted deck, with a planting deadline of October 31 — as well as for a sunroom-removal and garage-addition project at 20 Beach Street and for a dwelling replacement at 65 Walker Street for James Pellow and Robin Shammack. The commission continued a Nobska Pond invasive Phragmites management proposal from Crawford Land Management to July 22, pending a Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program file number; the project targets eight isolated areas totaling just under 4,800 square feet. Two other applications — John H. Gallagher III's piling-supported home replacement at 415 Maravista Avenue and 15 Dairyland LLC's common dock proposal — were also continued to July 22, with staff citing the applicants' need to first pursue zoning relief before the commission can act.
