School Committee delays Lawrence grade decision pending MSBA study

School Committee · Meeting of May 12, 2026

FALMOUTH — School Committee delays Lawrence grade configuration decision after renovation. Chair Terri Medeiros noted the Board will be required by the Massachusetts School Building Authority to examine feasibility study data during the design phase, potentially making a different option more favorable; most members agreed to postpone voting until after the study is received and a community survey is conducted. The Committee unanimously approved surplus declaration of world language materials at Falmouth High School and unanimously approved FEF grants for full or partial funding in 2026-2027.

A motion to send Superintendent Lori Duerr's summative evaluation to the Evaluation Subcommittee for legal counsel review of document scoring passed 7 to 2.
